Band to watch: The Liquorice Experiment

The Liquorice Experiment

It’s been a while since we’ve done a ‘band to watch’ piece, but every now and then a new band comes along that you simply just want everyone to hear and everyone to love! One of those bands we are extremely grateful to have stumbled across are the terrifically groovy Liquorice Experiment.

Based in London, this heavily 60’s inspired four-piece includes lead vocalist Alex Amorós on tambourine/shakers, Rachel Wood on drums, Brian Diarte on bass guitar, and Bruno Cruañes on electric guitar.

They only started making music together at the end of 2016, however what they’ve achieved in that short amount of time is simply out of this world! I’m sure this won’t be the last we hear of the psychedelic foursome, and we very much look forward to seeing what the future holds for The Liquorice Experiment.

Check out the music video for their debut single “Circa66”, directed by Spanish photographer and filmmaker, JC Verona, released last month:

Upcoming gigs:

  • 17th February – Ryan’s N16 (supporting Louis Antoniou)
  • 21st February – Nambucca
  • 29th March – Hope & Anchor
  • 28th April – Paper Dress Vintage
