Starting out as a trio in 2011,  Gdansk-based Polish neo-psych outfit The Fruitcakes have since expanded their line up and discography, having released their exceptional third album ‘Into The Sun’ last month. Made up of Jakub Zwolan on electric guitar, Przemyslaw Bartos on bass, Luki Tymanski on drums and Tomasz Zietek on vocals, the band have a colourful and interesting history; Luki is the oldest son of film score composer Ryszard ‘Tymon’ Tymański, and Tomasz is a well-known actor who has starred in films such as ‘Corpus Christi’, which was nominated for the Academy Award for foreign films.

Despite being heavily influenced by classic 60s bands such as The Beatles and Pink Floyd, The Fruitcakes sound excitingly contemporary, with echoes of Australian psychedelia like King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard and The Babe Rainbow thrown into the mix.

With dreamy harmonies and a laid back sound, The Fruitcakes are the perfect band to soundtrack your summer.

MOOF magazine very much look forward to seeing what the future holds for The Fruitcakes. Already highly established in Polish music circles, they’re ready to take on the UK and beyond!
